Gorilla trekking in Rwanda

Gorilla trekking in Rwanda remains Rwanda flagship tour and Africa's unrivalled primates experience. 10 habituated mountain gorilla families in Rwanda's volcanoes National Park are visited by 8 groups of no more than ten persons daily. Gorilla trekking permits are limited to 80 per day and it is best to book well in advance if you wish to get up close with a full grown silverback mountain gorilla

The Virunga trans-boundary is home to the last remaining mountain gorillas and you have three optional entrances to the park - one in Uganda namely Bwindi National Park, Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and the Virunga national Park in congo. Whatever park entrance you opt for our gorilla safaris kick off from Kigali the capital of Rwanda. Its proximity to all of the park's three points of entry makes it most ideal starting point for gorilla trekking in Rwanda, Uganda or D.R Congo.

TREKKING PERMIT

Book your gorilla permit

There are only 80 park permits for gorilla trekking issued per day as per current conservation guiidlines. Early booking is advised especially for trekking in the months of july through to December which is often gorilla trekking's highest season. Park permits range from $750 - Volcanoes national Park Rwanda, $450 - Bwindi National Park - Uganda, $350 - Virunga National Park - D.R Congo. The permit costs covers for your park entry fees to trek the volcanoes and an hour with the mountain gorillas. .
